ZZZ 3.1 "The Long Goodbye": banner windows, the Rescreening that skips the 50/50, and 30 free pulls

Version 3.1 "The Long Goodbye" unlocked worldwide on 29 July 2026 at 03:00 UTC and closes on 8 September. Remielle Dan holds Paradise Regained for the entire six weeks, which makes her the one debut in this patch with no phase deadline. Everything else in 3.1 runs on a three-week clock, and two of those clocks are the only dates worth writing down.

When 3.1 actually landed where you play

The unlock was a single simultaneous global reopen, not a per-server reset. Maintenance ran about five hours before it. In the Americas that put the whole event on 28 July, which is why one outlet headlined "July 28" and everyone else headlined "July 29" for the same instant.

Maintenance itself covered roughly 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM ET on 28 July. The regional conversions are T2: the 03:00 UTC unlock is the officially stated figure, the local rows are derived from it and corroborated by two outlets.

The four channels and the two deadlines

Paradise Regained spanning both halves is the structural oddity of this patch. HoYoverse normally cuts a version into two three-week banner blocks and nothing crosses the seam. Remielle Dan crosses it, so a player who wants Sigrid can spend Phase 2 on her and still return to Remielle before 8 September.

That leaves exactly two dates. Aria's Neon Angel closes on 19 August and does not extend. Sigrid and the Exclusive Rescreening both close on 8 September with the version. Game8 lists Sigrid's channel as 19 August 12:00 PM to 8 September 2:59 PM server time.

The Exclusive Rescreening has no 50/50

This is the fact the rest of the coverage buries, and it changes the arithmetic of the whole version.

On Paradise Regained, on Neon Angel and on Till the Ends of the Sky, the first S-Rank is a 50/50. Lose it and the next S-Rank is guaranteed. Worst case is two S-Ranks, so up to 180 pulls for one Agent.

The Exclusive Rescreening does not work that way. You designate one Agent out of Dialyn, Ukinami Yuzuha and Asaba Harumasa, and that Agent is guaranteed as your first S-Rank on the channel. No coin flip, hard cap 90. The designation locks permanently once set, so the choice is one-way. Pity is shared with the other limited channels and stays separate from Standard.

So the cheapest S-Rank in 3.1 is not the debut. It is whichever of those three you designate, at a hard 90 instead of a possible 180. If your pity is already deep going into 19 August, that gap gets larger, not smaller. This is T2: the mechanic has been consistent on Rescreening channels since 2.5 and is described the same way by both guide sources, but no first-party text we could read states it for 3.1 specifically.

Remielle Dan and what Lumiflux actually does

Remielle Dan is an S-Rank Lumiflux Anomaly Agent, a first-generation Void Hunter, and the first playable character on the Lumiflux attribute. Her in-game damage type reads as Luminize DMG. Her exclusive Anomaly is Refringe.

Her core mechanic is Attribute Flux. The press release wording is that it "synchronizes her damage output's attribute with the attribute of the next Agent in the squad". That single line explains why Lumiflux carries no attribute DMG% stat of its own: there is no Lumiflux DMG bonus to roll on a Drive Disc, because she inherits whatever the following Agent brings. She builds a resource into a Phase Flow state that buffs the squad without taking field time, and a fully charged Phase Flow fires a heavy Assist Attack.

The internal kit terms circulating from build sites are Floating Radiance, Voidflare Points and Lumen Buildup Points, with the Additional Ability "Invitation to Bloom" and the Core Passive "Temporal Patterns = Stilled Colors". Invitation to Bloom is reported to scale with the number of Anomaly Agents in the squad, capping at three. Treat all of that as T2.

Her signature W-Engine is Ode of Resurrected Wings, an S-Rank Anomaly piece, and it is also the Phase 1 W-Engine channel. A second English rendering, "Ode to Returning Feathers", turns up on aggregators. Two independent guide sources use Ode of Resurrected Wings, so that is the spelling here.

Her English voice is Amber Lee Connors. Her faction is the Covenant of Dayat.

Sigrid, 19 August

Sigrid is the Phase 2 debut, an S-Rank Ice Attack Agent and Deputy Administrative Director of the Airspace Patrol Department. She is a horse thiren who fights with a large spear and shield.

Her kit hangs off one loop: "whenever an Unbridled Spear skill hits an enemy, she will enter the Aerial Patrol Spear Form", which raises her CRIT Rate. In that form her enhanced Basic Attack unleashes Converging Spear.

Her signature W-Engine has not been named by any source we could reach. Knight's Extolment is the Phase 2 W-Engine channel and is the obvious candidate, but the link is unverified and is not stated here as fact.

Anniversary: what is still claimable

Version 3.1 is the second anniversary patch. ZZZ launched on 4 July 2024.

Every player claims one free limited S-Rank Agent from five: Jane Doe, Soldier 0 - Anby, Hugo, Trigger or Lucia. That Agent's signature W-Engine comes with it.

On top of that, the press release as rendered by Gematsu gives 20 Signal Searches in total, 10 of them from the check-in event "The Great En-Nah Giveaway!", plus 1,600 Polychromes from login events. The figure the wider coverage prints is 30 free pulls, which reconciles as those 20 tapes plus the Polychromes converted at 160 each. Some outlets print "30 Encrypted Master Tapes" instead, which double-counts the conversion. Twenty tapes and 1,600 Polychromes is the defensible reading.

Also distributed: Pyrois's latest Mindscape, W-Engine overclocking materials, and an anniversary title and avatar. The First Purchase Double Bonus reset in the Monochrome Market when 3.1 opened.

The one code, and it is gone

One livestream code was given out for 3.1: ZZZY2ANNIV, worth 300 Polychromes, 2 Senior Investigator Logs, 3 W-Engine Energy Modules and 30,000 Dennies. It expired on 19 July 2026 at 11:59 PM UTC+8.

There was only that one. A code reading "ZZZ2YEAR" circulates on aggregator pages claiming 1,600 Polychromes, 20 tapes and 10 Boopons. Nothing reputable corroborates it and the reward size is implausible for a redemption code. We are not publishing it as live.

Operation Bagel is permanent

Enigma of the Labyrinth: Operation Bagel is the headline system addition, and it is not an event. You enter stages, gather supplies and power up under a time limit, then evacuate. Supplies fund infrastructure research. It runs in seasonal cycles and shares weekly progress with Hollow Zero, so it does not stack another weekly chore on top.

Deadly Assault gains Adversity Mode. Its rewards are cosmetic only, which is worth knowing before anyone grinds it for materials.

Two new Drive Disc sets arrive, Feathered Fate and Thorned Rose. The new S-Rank Bangboo is Ariel, who debuts in an angelic form. Exploration adds a Bangboo Robot Mount transformation.

Balance work landed on three older Agents: Jane Doe, Rina and Nekomata all received buffs. Jane Doe being buffed in the same patch she is offered free in the selector is the sort of coincidence that decides a selector pick.

Search, onboarding and account systems

The Custom Search Mechanism lets you pre-designate six S-Rank Agents from the limited and standard pools. Non-rate-up S-Rank signals then draw from that pool at equal probability. Icy Veins names Yanagi, Caesar and Zhu Yuan as examples of poolable picks. The W-Engine and A-Rank channels are customisable too, and the settings persist and can be changed at any time.

A Beginner's Guide replaces the Proxy Trial, with team composition recommendations, an enhancement progression path and a Polychrome acquisition guide. Inter-Knot progress speed is up from level 20 to level 50, and W-Engine storage gains batch lock and unlock plus a better auto-select.

Summer Waves Roll In, outfits and Operation Yum

The summer event is "Summer Waves Roll In", a fantasy resort at Sailume Bay with Lucy, Sigrid and Remielle. It runs on beachcombing and souvenir-shop management. Clearing its main storyline hands over Lucy's "Princess on Holiday" outfit for free.

Five outfits ship in total. Vivian gets "Iris of the Shore", Sigrid gets "Majestic Wavechaser", Remielle gets "Seashade Pas Seul" and "Moonlight Whispers", an evening gown with veiled and unveiled forms. Remielle's two bundle at 30% off. Lucy's is the free one.

Operation Yum returns with Ellen and Manato, tied to Kyuramen in the US and Haidilao in Singapore. HoYoverse is also running global ZZZ exhibitions of concept design and animation material.

The story, and the platform correction

"The Long Goodbye" reunites the player with Truvia, heiress of High Ambitions Corp, and formally introduces Lindverne Sunbringer and Deputy Director Sigrid alongside Remielle Dan's emergence. The Enchainer is the antagonist thread running through it.

On platforms, one line needs correcting because it is widely inverted. ZZZ was already on Xbox Series X|S and already on Steam before 3.1. What launched on 29 July is the Microsoft Store PC edition, sometimes called "Xbox on PC", with Xbox Play Anywhere support. Xbox Game Pass subscribers got a limited-time reward boost with it.

The full platform list now reads PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via the HoYoPlay client, Steam, Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store, plus iOS and Android.

What 3.0 left behind

Version 3.0 Phase 2 ran 8 July to 28 July 2026 on Outlier of Prodigies, with Norma debuting as an S-Rank Fire Stun Agent and Pulchra and Corin as the featured A-Ranks. A Sunna rerun, Physical Support, ran alongside it. Both closed on 28 July, the day the maintenance for 3.1 began, so there was no overlap to double-dip. The name attached to that Sunna rerun on some sites is unverified and is left out here.

Three things that decide where this lands

Aria's Neon Angel closes on 19 August. That is the only Phase 1 deadline in the version.

Sigrid and the Exclusive Rescreening both close on 8 September, and the Rescreening is the channel where a hard 90 buys a guaranteed S-Rank.

Then the forward item nobody put in a headline: a Honkai: Star Rail crossover was announced in the same Special Program, for winter 2026. No date, no version number, no content detail. It is the biggest thing 3.1 set up and the smallest thing it shipped.
