NTE 1.2 Phase 2: Iroi release date, kit and why a revive changes the meta

Iroi goes live on July 29, 2026 as the second limited S-Class of Neverness to Everness Version 1.2. She is an Anima support who heals the whole team, buffs its damage, and brings the game's first revive. Her banner runs until August 19.

When does Iroi release?
Iroi's banner opens with the Version 1.2 Phase 2 switchover on July 29, 2026 at 05:59 (UTC+8), the moment Shinku's Phase 1 banner closes.
That timestamp is why you will see two different dates quoted. Converted to local time, the switch lands on July 28 across the Americas and on July 29 in Asia and Europe:
| Region | Phase 2 opens |
|---|---|
| CN / Asia (UTC+8) | July 29, 05:59 |
| Europe (UTC+0) | July 28, 21:59 |
| US East (UTC-4) | July 28, 17:59 |
| US West (UTC-7) | July 28, 14:59 |
There is no maintenance downtime for a phase switch. The banner rotates in place, so if you are holding pulls you do not need to be online at the changeover.
Iroi's banner ends August 19, 2026, when Version 1.3 preparation begins.
What is Iroi's kit?
Iroi is an S-Class Anima hybrid support. Her kit does three jobs that are normally split across two units:
- Team-wide healing. Sustained group recovery rather than single-target patching, which is what makes her viable in the harder 999 Nights floors.
- Damage amplification. She buffs the team's outgoing damage, so she is not a pure defensive slot: you are not giving up a DPS seat for nothing.
- Revive. This is the headline. NTE has not shipped a revive before, and a unit that can undo a death fundamentally changes how much risk a roster can absorb in timed content.

The revive is the part worth thinking about carefully. In every gacha that has introduced one, the mechanic tends to reprice difficulty: content tuned around "do not die" becomes content tuned around "do not die twice." If Hotta balances future endgame with Iroi in mind, her value goes up over time rather than down.
Should you pull Iroi?
Pull if you are missing a dedicated healer, if you are pushing 999 Nights, or if you routinely lose runs to a single mistake rather than to a damage check.

Skip if you already run a comfortable sustain unit and your clears are failing on damage. Iroi buffs damage but she is not a damage carry, and Phase 1's Shinku covers that role better.
The awkward case is anyone who spent on Shinku. Version 1.2 ran the two limited S-Class characters back to back with the same currency pool, which is a deliberate squeeze. If you cleared the Circle Gift event during Phase 1, up to 10 Solid Dice across seven days, you are in a better position than the pull maths alone suggests.
What else is in Version 1.2?
Version 1.2 launched on July 8, 2026 after a maintenance window from 06:00 to 11:00 (UTC+8). It brought Shinku, the 999 Nights game mode, a new vehicle, and a batch of fixes.

Phase 1 ran two limited banners: Before the Dawn for Shinku, a Cosmos damage dealer built around building and consuming Menacing Gaze to enter her Surging Crimson state, and Resolve Special for the Blushing Mirage Arc, a Condensate piece that raises damage and penetration for Cosmos characters after they use their ultimate.

Both closed on July 29 at 05:59 (UTC+8). If you were building Shinku, the Arc leaving with her is the more painful loss: signature Arcs historically rerun less often than the characters they support.
FAQ
When does Iroi release in Neverness to Everness?
July 29, 2026 at 05:59 UTC+8, which is July 28 evening in North America and Europe. Her banner runs until August 19, 2026.
Is Iroi limited or permanent?
Limited. She is the second limited S-Class character of Version 1.2 and leaves the banner pool on August 19, 2026, with no announced rerun date.
What element and role is Iroi?
Iroi is an Anima hybrid support. She provides team-wide healing, damage buffs for the party, and a revive.
Does Iroi have a revive?
Yes, and it is the first in Neverness to Everness. That single mechanic is the main argument for pulling her, because it changes how much risk a team can take in timed and high-difficulty content.
Is there maintenance for NTE 1.2 Phase 2?
No. Phase switches rotate the banner in place without downtime. The Version 1.2 update itself did require maintenance, from 06:00 to 11:00 UTC+8 on July 8, 2026.
Who was in NTE 1.2 Phase 1?
Shinku, a Cosmos damage dealer, on the Before the Dawn banner, plus the Blushing Mirage Arc on Resolve Special. Both ended July 29, 2026 at 05:59 UTC+8.
When is NTE 1.3?
Not announced. Version 1.2 runs to August 19, 2026, and Hotta Studio holds a version preview broadcast ahead of each patch, so expect the 1.3 date to surface roughly a week before it lands.
